ABOUT US
The Chesapeake Bay Recovery Partnership (CBRP) is a newly formed public-private partnership between Chesapeake Appreciation, Inc. (dba Oyster Recovery Partnership (ORP)) and the State of Maryland (Department of Natural Resources (DNR)). This partnership was created to coordinate and implement large-scale, integrated Chesapeake Bay restoration projects that will include oyster restoration, bay grass replenishment, planting of forest buffers and cover crops, and nutrient and sediment reduction.
The partnership will raise private funds from a variety of sources from the general public, corporations and foundations. ORP will receive and administer the public funds, in partnership with DNR, and determine jointly how the monies will be spent by the state through a transparent process.
The Chesapeake Bay Recovery Partnership Advisory Board is comprised of
- Mr. Charles Frentz (Oyster Recovery Partnership)
- Mr. Charles C.G. Evans Jr. (Maryland Department of Natural Resources)
- Dr. Carl Hershner (Virginia Institute of Marine Sciences)
- Dr. Margaret Palmer (UMD Solomons Lab)
- Mr. Walt Petrie (Petrie Ventures)

The partnership has also created a scientific/technical advisory committee (STAC) to review, advise and make recommendations on proposed projects. View STAC committee organizations.
